Access solutions specialist dormakaba has agreed to acquire UK-based guest experience technology company Alliants, in a move that will expand its offering to hotels beyond physical access control.
The companies signed a binding agreement on 15 September, with the transaction expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approval. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
Founded in Southampton in 2009, Alliants provides guest experience software and managed services to more than 100,000 hotel rooms operated by leading hospitality brands worldwide.
Its platform includes digital concierge services, contactless check-in, mobile keys, payments, guest messaging and agentic AI. Alliants also provides digital hotel keys through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with its technology named by TIME magazine among its best inventions of 2025.
The acquisition will allow dormakaba to combine its established access control technology and global presence with Alliants’ digital guest experience platform. The companies said this will give hotels the option of an end-to-end solution spanning digital guest engagement, access and hotel operations.
However, both businesses will continue to support interoperability with other technology providers, allowing hotels to retain existing manufacturers and software partners.
Till Reuter, CEO of dormakaba, said the deal reflected the growing connection between hotel access and guest experience.
“Hospitality is a key growth vertical for dormakaba, and this acquisition reflects our continued investment in the sector globally while broadening the value we can deliver to hotel customers,” he said.
Alliants CEO and founder Tristan Gadsby said the deal recognised the increasing overlap between access and digital guest experience.
Alliants employs more than 100 people and operates globally, while dormakaba has a presence in more than 130 countries.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval, with completion expected before the end of 2026.
