British architectural hardware manufacturer Turnstyle Designs has announced changes to its leadership structure as it enters a new phase of development.
Oscar Roberts, who has been managing director since May 2023, is stepping back from day-to-day operations to become creative director and chairman. In his new role, he will focus on the development of the Turnstyle brand, product design and its creative direction.
The company remains owned by the Roberts family.
Wayne Dymond has been appointed commercial managing director, while Karl Smith becomes operations managing director. The pair have more than 53 years of combined experience at Turnstyle, having worked across manufacturing, operations, sales, marketing, product development and international expansion.
Roberts said the appointments would allow the company to maintain its focus on design while supporting its next phase of growth.
“Design has always been at the heart of what we do,” he said. “By appointing a dedicated creative director, we are reinforcing our commitment to originality, innovation and creating products that continue to set us apart.”
Dymond added that he and Smith were “humbled and privileged” to be taking on their new roles.
“We are committed to protecting the values that have made Turnstyle successful while continuing to invest in our people, products, facilities and global partnerships,” he said.
The leadership changes come as Turnstyle progresses construction of a new manufacturing facility and global headquarters in Devon. Completion is expected early next year.
The facility represents the largest investment in the company’s history and will increase manufacturing capacity as the business expands its international operations.
Founded in 1992, Turnstyle Designs manufactures handcrafted architectural hardware, with its products used in residential, hospitality and marine projects internationally.
